SAPSASA Athletics Day – Tuesday 5th September

SAPSASA Athletics was really fun! You could go and support people and cheer on the school. These were the events; 800m jog, 200m sprint, 100m sprint, high jump, long jump, shot-put, and discus. A few people even got into the finals! While you were waiting for your event or if you had already finished you could hang out with friends or play games. My friends and I went on a walk around the oval. So really what I am trying to say is that SAPSASA was really fun!

Knockout Cricket Round 3

East Marden 7/89 def by Burnside 7/103.

On Wednesday 5th April our SAPSASA knockout cricket team played their third match of the competition against Burnside. EMPS chose to bowl and Burnside batted very well making 7/103 off their 25 overs. Ryan took two wickets while the others were shared between Bradon, Charlie and Matt, who also threw down the stumps for a runout.

EMPS also batted well but fell short in reply making 7/89 off our 25 overs. Captain Gautam and Bradon showed grit when batting each scoring 21 runs. Ridhey hit three fours in the dying overs to give EMPS a chance but there were too many runs to chase down in the end.

Congratulations to all of the boys who represented our school so well, showing great effort and sportsmanship. Well done boys!

A big thanks to Peter McAlister for umpiring/coaching all three matches.

Mr Taylor.

Swimming Carnival

On Tuesday 7th March Mrs Kapor and Mrs Perham took 18 students from EMPS to compete at the Torrens River Swimming Carnival. All the students tried their best and represented our school brilliantly.

Emily Spencer, Kelly Wibowo and Elena Scullen-Howe all qualified for and swam at the SAPSASA State Championships on the 16th of March.

Congratulations to all of our swimmers from East Marden!

Knockout Cricket Round 2

East Marden 2/75  def Rose Park 10/24

Knockout Cricket Round 1

East Marden 1/106 def Magill 10/58.

On Tuesday 28th February East Marden played a cricket match against Magill Primary School. We won having scored 1/106 and Magill scored 10/58. Sree hit 33 with 3 sixes, while Gautam scored 27. In bowling we got them all out for 58. The wicket takers were Gautam who had two wickets, Charlie had two also too and Cameron took some great catches.

Overall it was a hot day at 37°C at EMPS oval but despite the heat we played well. We are looking forward to our next match against Rose Park and will take some confidence out of the game last week.
